So the “Mini-Session” aspect of this adorable shoot is actually VERY mini indeed. Emilio and I were at Central Park with friends just strolling around and taking photos when this adorable couple just walked past us minutes after I complained about needing to photograph someone that day. The inner photographer in me would NOT let me just let this perfect couple pass and moments later I was running after them in full on creeper photographer mode with zero shame, while my inner polite self felt so guilty. It was a terrible internal battle where the rational me knew “OMFG THIS IS SO CREEPY I’m just running up to people and I’m going to ask to photograph them…” … in the end I think you know which side of the battle won judging by these adorable photos.
I do have to say it turned out for the best, they happily agreed and we snapped all of these awesome photos in honestly less than 60 seconds. I went into super posing mode and just snapped as many photos as possible so I didn’t take up too much of their time. Just imagine what a full on engagement session would look like in a gorgeous snowy central park with your lover? Well you don’t really have to imagine, it would look something like this. I was able to give the couple a business card and giddily thank them for being so amazing and cooperative on a whim, they went separate ways and I crossed my fingers that they would actually keep my business card so I could show them I wasn’t just some random guy with a camera trying to be a weirdo. Two weeks later, I got an email from the two, and we were so so happy to deliver the full gallery to them and they were so pleased with the outcome.
This is why I should definitely let my inner photographer just roam free and snap away more often 🙂
